Department of Neurology is a provincial key medical subjectin Henan Province, a municipal important special department inLuohe city, a national clinical drug trial institution, and a Jin Guocivilized model Gang. It is the only professional neurology department collectsof teaching, scientific research and medical care, providing clinical prevention,treatment and rehabilitation in and around Luohe city.

The department has a team of talents whoare dedicated, cooperative, with a strong academic atmosphere and a highquality academic echelon. We have 3 chief physicians, 6 associate chiefphysicians, 6 attending physicians and 6 residents. Among them,there are 1 doctoral candidate and 15 master candidates. Consisting of 40nurses,1 associate chief nurses, 10 supervisor nurses, 16 seniornurses and 13 nurses provide the high quality nursing service.

We provide standardized diagnosis andtreatment of nervous system diseases for patients, especially in cerebrovascular disease,epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson's disease,infections disease of central nervous system, neurodegenerativedisease and demyelinating disease. We stick to focus on interventional therapy on cerebrovascular diseaseand follow the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, epilepsy, dementia andneuromusculardisease. We develop technologies successfully such as intravenous thrombolysistherapy, arterial thrombolysis therapy and mechanical recanalizationof acute cerebral infarctions. We are experienced in treatment of severe cerebrovascular disease,infections disease of central nervous system, demyelinatingdisease, disease of peripheral nervous system, epilepsy andother ailments. Serum concentration monitor of AED( antiepileptic drugs),pharmacogenetic test for drugs such as aspirin, plavix, warfarin, statins,psychological evaluation are routinely carried out for precision medicine.We have advanced technology in interventional treatment for ischemic cerebrovascular disease,carotid artery stenting, intracranial artery stenting,intracranial aneurysm embolization and treatment of complex aneurysm.

The prevention andtreatment of ischemic cerebrovascular disease has been the majordirection of medical treatment and scientific research for years. Departmentof Neurology was conferred the honorable title of“stroke screening base” by the Chinese Ministry of Health in 2011.Meanwhile,we also participated actively in “standardized application ofdiagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular disease and medical qualityevaluation and continuous improvement”-Jin Qiao Project, which is a multicenter, large-scale "twelfthFive-Year" Plan project supported by National Scienceand Technology.

It is a well equipped hospital with abundanttechnical force. Department of Neurology sets up 1 neurophysiologic testroom, 1 laboratory, and cerebrovascular intervention room. We have large tabletdigital subtraction angiography (DSA) machine produced by Royal Philipselectronics co. Ltd., 1.5TMRI,3.0TMRI, 64-slice CT,ambulatory electroencephalography monitor, transcranial Doppler, carotid artery ultrasoundexamining room, mild hypothermia therapeutic apparatus, transcranial ultrasound thrombolysis therapeutic apparatus, psychologicalscale assessment system,  brainwave therapeutic apparatus, and neurologicalintensive care unit.

In recent years, we participated in thepublication of 10 monographs, had won 13 municipal awards for research findings(including 3 first prize, 8 second prize and 2 thirdprize), and managed 2 provincial-level research projects. We participatedin “a five-year plan” program-quality control in standardized treatment ofcerebrovascular disease, cooperating with BeijingTiantan Hospital. We published more than 30 academic papers aboutstate-level, and held several annual meetings of neurology successfully,resulting in development of academic level in the region.
